Air New Zealand lifting decision welcomed
Disability Issues Minister Ruth Dyson today welcomed Air New Zealand’s decision to trial new lifting equipment for disabled people.
“The airline’s decision to trial new lifting equipment early next year, and to introduce the equipment nationwide if the trial is successful, will meet the needs of both disabled passengers and provide a safe working environment for airline staff.
“The ability to travel independently is essential for disabled people to be able to participate fully in our communities. I am impressed by Air New Zealand’s strong commitment to work with the disability sector to resolve this issue, and I look forward to seeing continued progress.”
