Turner welcomes Families Commission survey

Turner welcomes Families Commission survey

United Future deputy leader Judy Turner today welcomed the launch of the Families Commission’s What Would Make Your Family Life Better? survey, saying it was great to see New Zealand families being consulted about the issues they face.

“This is the necessary starting point for the commission to fulfil its mandate to filter all policy in terms of its impact on the family.

“That can only be done from a strong basis of information on family life in New Zealand and United Future is delighted to see the commission stepping up to the mark."

The Families Commission needs a strong emphasis on identifying family strengths and how to replicate them in other families, she said.

“I am very, very proud that United Future has changed the political landscape by putting families to the forefront and to see the commission, which was one of our key policy planks at the last election, starting to do that job.”

Ends.
