ACT Leader Rodney Hide said today that he was pleased Don Brash has followed ACT's lead by pledging to abolish Labour's five- cent tax hike on petrol.
"ACT was against the petrol tax hike when Labour announced it - and we remain committed to abolishing it.
"The only mistake National's made is to promise to put Labour's petrol tax back on in April next year.
"It's a bad tax and it should go - permanently. National's promise to bring the tax back in explains why it's so vital that New Zealanders give their Party Vote to ACT this Saturday," Mr Hide said.
