NZ First Seeks Meeting With Auckland Mayors
New Zealand First local government spokesperson Brian Donnelly has written to Auckland mayors seeking a meeting to discuss the proposed sale of Auckland Airport among other issues.
“While there are many Auckland issues of great saliency, the potential sale of Auckland Airport, given the significant proportion of ownership by two Auckland councils and the airports strategic relevance to the whole of New Zealand, is particularly pressing at this time,” said Mr Donnelly.
“New Zealand First wants to ensure that various facets of the proposed sale and the views of Aucklanders in particular, are thoroughly canvassed.
“The proposed sale is fundamentally flawed on many levels and we will seek to work with those councils directly involved to ensure that their combined 23% share of the airport can be used to block this disastrous proposal.
“New Zealand First is committed to doing whatever it takes and working with all those necessary to block this sale,” concluded Mr Donnelly.
