Appalling lack of judgement


“John Key calling the $700 million NZ Fast Forward Fund for research, development, and innovation in the primary sector a ‘gimmick’ betrays an appalling lack of judgement,” Minister for Economic Development Pete Hodgson said today.

“Most New Zealanders, regardless of their political views, will put aside differences when they see an opportunity for the Kiwi brand to accelerate on the international stage. In this instance he is totally at odds with the primary sector industries who have given this plan widespread support.”

“Plain commonsense should override his foolish desire to be seen to have an opinion on everything. The NZ Fast Forward Fund announced today will power-up New Zealand’s primary production base to ensure it has a higher technology future. It is an investment in the future of this sector for the coming generations.”
