Funds Paid To Worthy Causes – Peters

New Zealand First has distributed $158,000 to charitable causes.

The money was identified by the Auditor-General as wrongfully spent at the last election.

This was disputed by New Zealand First, which claims its expenditure had received prior approval from Parliamentary Services.

Rt Hon Winston Peters confirmed today all the money had been paid to a number of worthy causes.

“The Speaker’s Office has been given the details and has acknowledged them. We will not be publicly identifying the recipients. That is up to them.

“We regard the matter as now closed,” said Mr Peters.
