New Zealand First Saddened By Officer’s Death

New Zealand First Saddened By Officer’s Death

New Zealand First law and order spokesperson Ron Mark says that the Party is saddened by the death of a police officer and the wounding of another in an incident in Mangere early today.

“As a caucus that has several MPs with close family members in the police, we constantly worry about their wellbeing and that of their colleagues owing to the increasingly violent communities that they are required to serve,” said Mr Mark

“This callous act of violence against two men who were serving their nation will only strengthen our resolve to better serve those men and women of the New Zealand Police.

“We send our condolences to the family of Sergeant Don Wilkinson, the deceased officer, and to the family of the injured officer with our wishes for his full recovery.

“Our thoughts are also with the New Zealand Police, as they come to terms with yet another tragic loss from their ranks.”
