Confidence Vote Won By 67 to 52

Following Question Time MPs completed the Debate in Reply to the Prime Minister’s Statement.

Parliament supported the Prime Minister’s Statement by 67 votes to 52, with National (57), ACT (5), United Future (1) and the Maori Party (4) in favour.

It was opposed by Labour (42), Greens (9), Progressive (1).

No vote was recorded for Chris Carter.

The Appropriation (2009/10 Financial Review) Bill received its second reading without debate by 67 votes to 52.

MPs began the first reading stage of the Regulatory Reform Bill.

This Bill contains a number of amendments to legislation with the policy objective of reducing the compliance burden on business.
