When Parliament resumed at 2pm Civil Defence Minister John Carter notified the House that the national state of emergency declared following the Christchurch earthquake would be extended.

A petition was received from John Boscawen asking the House to reject the Marine and Coastal Area (Takutai Moana) Bill.

The Auditor General’s report on results of central government audits 2009/2010 volume two was presented.

MPs passed a motion supporting the United Nations Security Council resolution on Libya.

International treaty examination of the Convention on the Conservation and Management of High Seas Fishery Resources in the South Pacific Ocean as reported by the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Committee;

Briefing on the Provincial Reconstruction Team in Afghanistan as reported by the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Committee;

Briefing on Egypt and the Middle East as reported by the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Committee;

2009/10 financial review of Transpower New Zealand Limited as reported by the Commerce Committee
