Foreshore Bill Set To Pass

When Parliament resumed at 2pm the acting Leader of the House John Carter said next week would be a recess and when the House resumed on April 5 it was the Government’s intention to make progress on the:

Financial Markets (Regulators and KiwiSaver) Bill;

Securities Trustees and Statutory Supervisors Bill; and

Legal Services Bill.

The Auditor General’s report on Auditing Standards was tabled.

Select Committee reports were presented on the:

2009/10 financial review of the New Zealand Antarctic Institute by the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Committee;

2009/10 financial review of the Tertiary Education Commission by the Education and Science Committee

2009/10 financial review of the New Zealand Forest Research Institute Limited by the Education and Science Committee;

Briefing on the Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board (Fees) Notice 2010 by the Regulations Review Committee;

Report from the Controller and Auditor-General on Spending on supplies and services by district health boards: Learning from examples by the Health Committee;

Report from the Controller and Auditor-General on District health boards: Availability and accessibility of after-hours services by the Health Committee;

Inquiry into how to improve completion rates of childhood immunisation, and Briefings from the Chief Coroner on the coronial process, from Dr Michael Tatley on the adverse reaction process, and from Professor Sir Peter Gluckman on how to improve completion by the Health Committee; and the

2009/10 financial reviews of the Auckland District Health Board, of the Capital and Coast District Health Board, of the Hawke's Bay District Health Board, and of the Tairawhiti District Health Board Canterbury District Health Board, and of the West Coast District Health Board by the Health Committee.

Following Question Time, MPs are scheduled to hold the third reading debate on the Marine and Coastal Area (Takutai Moana) Bill.
