I met with the Speaker of the House
yesterday to clarify the requirements for a by-election. The
Speaker was able to shed light on a number of critical
issues and directed me to the Electoral Commission on a
number of other matters.
As soon as I have that information, I plan on meeting with my staff and with the people of Tai Tokerau to let them know what will happen. I do not expect to be talking to the Speaker regarding the by-election issue until after that has been done.
