Fyfe leads Air New Zealand to
greatness
Air New Zealand chief executive Rob Fyfe can take immense pride in his seven years running the airline, says Labour Leader David Shearer.
“Under his direction Air New Zealand has grown in stature and performance,” David Shearer said. “The airline’s contribution to Brand New Zealand cannot be over-estimated
“Twice in the past three years Air New Zealand has won the Air Transport World’s Airline of the Year award, and currently holds that distinction. An important reason the airline has impressed the judges is its environmental initiatives, particularly its commitment to running a modern, fuel-efficient fleet. This enhances New Zealand’s clean, green image
“Air New Zealand has also survived the global economic crisis, remaining profitable while airlines around the world have suffered damaging or catastrophic results,” David Shearer said.
“Rob Fyfe’s far-sighted leadership will leave Air New Zealand in excellent shape, with a modern fleet that will keep the company to the forefront of airlines around the world.
“Air New Zealand has become the epitome of all that is good about our country and our determination to be excellent,” David Shearer said.
