Appointments to Education New Zealand board
Two appointments to the Education New Zealand board have been announced today by Tertiary Education, Skills and Employment Minister Steven Joyce.
Dr Neil Barns has been reappointed as a member of the Board for a three-year term and Frances Valintine has been appointed as a board member to replace departing member Jenny Alford.
“Dr Barns has been a valuable contributor since the Education New Zealand board was established in September 2011 and Education New Zealand will continue to benefit
from his knowledge and experience in the international education sector,” Mr Joyce says.
“Ms Valintine has substantial international and domestic experience in the creative and technology sectors as well as experience in education at a governance level. Her mix of skills and experience will be an asset Education New Zealand.”
“I would like to thank Ms Alford who
has been valuable contributor to the Board, and Education
New Zealand has benefited significantly from her advice and
input.”
