Key Notes: Building up to Budget 2014
Building up to Budget 2014
It has been a busy week as we build up to Budget 2014 later this month.
This will be the sixth Budget of the National-led Government.
We have moved from managing our way out of a recession to managing a growing economy that supports more jobs and higher incomes.
New Zealand has come through a number of significant challenges in recent years in good shape.
This week the Government made several pre-Budget announcements.
Children under six with profound hearing loss will get a better start in life as they will receive two cochlear implants rather than one, from 1 July.
Sexual violence support services will receive increased funding to help them provide vital support for New Zealanders and their families impacted by sexual violence.
And a further 90,000 children will have access to free drop-in sore-throat clinics to help combat rheumatic fever.
There will be more announcements in the lead up to Budget 2014, keep up to date with them here.
Sincerely,
John Key
Prime
Minister
