Labour’s thoughts with Canadians
Labour has offered its sympathies to the family and friends of the Canadian soldier who died in what appears to be a premeditated and unprovoked attack while standing at guard at the Ottawa National War Memorial.
“Our thoughts are also with the Canadian people who are coming to terms with this horrific event and those in Parliament who were caught up in the attack,” Labour’s Foreign Affairs spokesperson David Shearer said.
“We acknowledge the quick response of the Canadian security services who, by responding quickly to the threat the gunman posed, may well have saved other innocent lives.”
