Something Amiss with Milk Prices
The Government needs to investigate why milk ‘made in New Zealand’ is such a high price when the world price of milk is still dropping, says New Zealand First.
“Families don’t want big words about stable and volatile markets, they want to know why they have to pay so much and when milk will be cheaper,” says New Zealand First Social Policy spokesperson Darroch Ball.
“Surely lower prices overseas should be reflected here. Something is amiss.
“Removing GST would be a start. Food is becoming less affordable by the day for families.
“Prime Minister John Key has talked about getting fresh ideas on poverty – he could start with making sure milk from our farms is affordable for our own kids.”
