Action Not Distraction Needed on Auckland’s Rail Link

Extending the existing rail network to Auckland Airport is a “no brainer”, says Denis O’Rourke MP New Zealand First Transport Spokesperson.

“Suggesting that the Auckland Airport link should be by light rail is a recipe for further delay and procrastination.
“Getting the rail network connected to Auckland Airport is vital and urgent for Auckland’s public transport system.”

New Zealand First policy is that light rail has an important part to play in Auckland’s transport future – as it does in Wellington and Christchurch.

“There are many opportunities for light rail – the Auckland city to airport link is not one of them!!

“What Auckland public transport needs now is action not distraction,” says Denis O’Rourke MP.
