Marines & Army Deliver Christmas to Sick Wellington Kids

US Marines And NZ Army Deliver Christmas Cheer to Sick Wellington Kids

New Zealand First appreciates the goodwill generated at Wellington’s Regional Children’s Hospital by the New Zealand Army last week and the United States Marines today.

“United States Marines cut a spectacular dash visiting Wellington Children’s Hospital to deliver presents to sick children,” says Barbara Stewart, New Zealand First Health Spokesperson.

“One photo I saw shows the spirits of children being lifted by friendly Marines in smart dress uniforms. All New Zealanders will appreciate the generosity of the Marines and that of the United States Embassy.

“It also follows a visit last week by the New Zealand Army who delivered balloons to patients in the Children’s Hospital.

“New Zealand First would also like to thank the countless volunteers who visit patients, help visitors and in the case of children, even come into play with them at weekends.

“As a Party we believe volunteerism is something to be cherished and encouraged.

“Naturally we appreciate the efforts of all doctors, nurses and medical workers who work so hard in our health system.

“From cleaners to specialists we thank you for your contribution to the health of New Zealanders over 2014. We especially thank those who’ll be working hard on Christmas Day,” Mrs Stewart said.
