Please Explain Health Minister
New Zealand First is demanding an explanation as to why the elective surgery figures from Minister of Health Jonathan Coleman are being disputed by District Health Boards.
“New Zealand First is writing to the Minister to please explain, given the Taranaki DHB has complained that the figures were not reflective of the cancellation rates, says New Zealand First Health Spokesperson Barbara Stewart.
“The Minister needs to say who is right, and who is wrong.
“The New Zealand public deserves to know the truth and have confidence in the data. If the data is wrong, then our health system is in a mess.
“New Zealand First wants to ensure that our health care system is run efficiently. This issue has certainly raised some questions and the Minister needs to come up with some answers and quickly,” says Mrs Stewart.
