Bishop hosts Rules Reduction Taskforce meeting
Chris Bishop, National List MP based in the Hutt Valley, is hosting a meeting of the Rules Reduction Taskforce in the Hutt on Friday 15 May at 9am at the Dowse Art Museum.
“The Rules Reduction Taskforce has been set up to get rid of loopy property rules and regulations that are stopping people from getting on with the job. The Taskforce has been touring around the country over the past few months, hearing submission. Now it’s the turn of Hutt Valley people to have their say.
“I know that there’s a great deal of frustration out there from people looking to build, redevelop or make home improvements, who are being held back by confusing, costly rules which have long since lost their relevance.
“The job of the Rules Reduction Taskforce is to have a look at all the rules and regulations that submitters mention to find out what ones are necessary, what ones are unnecessary, and what ones need to change, and then report to the government. That report is expected to be completed by the end of August 2015,” says Mr Bishop.
In addition to the public meeting, submissions can also be made online: www.govt.nz/rulesreduction
