More doctors and nurses taking care of
MidCentral patients
Families in MidCentral are receiving their care from more doctors and nurses under National than ever before says local MP Jono Naylor.
“Our dedicated health workforce is making a real difference for patients in our region.
“As of 31 March 2015 there were 284 doctor and 873 nurse full-time equivalents employed by MidCentral DHB. That’s 65 more doctors and 125 more nurses compared to 2008, including 31 more senior doctors and 44 more senior nurses.
“While many other countries are freezing or even reducing health funding, National is committed to protecting and growing our public health services.
“Health funding has increased every year under this Government and once again Health is expected to receive the largest share of new funding in Budget 2015 when it is released later this week,” says Naylor.
