MP for Epsom David Seymour congratulates Florence Reynolds and Grace Brebner for their success at parliament’s 2015 Youth Awards held last night.
Florence Reynolds of Parnell won a Leadership Award for her work founding “Plastic Diet”, a youth organisation set up to address plastic pollution.
“Florence’s work addresses pollution, and invites young people to volunteer. It’s the best of a generation that gets out and does, despite all the negative reports young people get,” said Mr Seymour.
“These types of initiatives lie at the core of every healthy community.”
Grace Brebner of Epsom won the Anzac Youth Award for her authorship of four songs about World War I and its human impact.
“Grace’s performance at the Awards was the highlight. She is like Wilfred Owen and Bic Runga in one. She is a star.
“I’m consistently inspired by young people from my electorate sticking their necks out and making a difference.”
