Norman Berryman Mourned By Northlanders - Peters
The Rt Hon Winston Peters, Member of Parliament for Northland and New Zealand First Leader, is joining many others in expressing his shock at the sudden death of Northland rugby legend, Norm Berryman.
“A Wellingtonian by birth, Norm became a proud son of Northland whose career’s greatest success came with the Crusaders,” Mr Peters said.
“Norm became a son of both islands and attained the pinnacle of anyone who has played rugby; an All Blacks cap against South Africa.
“The age of 42 is tragically young and our condolences, like many Northlanders and New Zealanders, go to his family and children,” Mr Peters said.
