Public Collections and Solicitations (Disclosure of Payment) Bill
On 12 August 2015, the House of Representatives referred the Public Collections and Solicitations (Disclosure of Payment) Bill to the Social Services Select Committee for consideration and report to the House by 12 February 2015.
The Public Collections and Solicitations (Disclosure of Payment) Bill seeks to increase transparency around public collectors, and would require public collectors who are paid to solicit donations or signatures to disclose this fact to those they ask to sign, pay, or donate to any cause.
The committee has resolved to publicly call for submissions and advises that submissions will close at 5pm on Wednesday, 30 September 2015.
