Figures in the recently released Regional Tourism Estimates show Manawatu is benefiting from the current tourism boom says Jono Naylor.
The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment has released the latest estimates for regional tourism. This shows both domestic and international tourism.
“Manawatu is benefiting from the current boom,” says Naylor.
“While many people might not see Palmerston North as a tourism hotspot, we are well placed to benefit from tourism.
“Tourism expenditure increased by $57million last year in Manawatu.
“In Palmerston North city, the biggest boost came from transport, tourism products and retail,” says Naylor.
