Assisted Dying critics must be honest in their campaign David Seymour, ACT Leader said today.

His statement comes after www.goodlife.org.nz, a website asking people to write to Parliament's Health Select Committee on the inquiry into ending one’s life in New Zealand, was found to misrepresent an author’s view on assisted dying.

“The website has used two quotes from Atul Gawande, a well-known surgeon, and have made it appear that he does not support assisted dying legislation. However, the quotes the creators have used are directly adjacent to the paragraph where Gawande expresses his support for assisted dying laws.

“Dishonesty throughout the inquiry process is only going to add confusion to this important debate.

“People thinking about making a submission to the inquiry should not feel overwhelmed by misinformation. All opinions on this important issue matter.
