Staff Cuts Likely From Parliament – Questions Asked
New Zealand First is questioning why parliamentarians are sitting by as the jobs of 17 chamber staff in Parliament are under threat.
“It is understood that the jobs are being disestablished and the workers being made redundant and told to re-apply, if they want to, for about five jobs,” says New Zealand First Leader and Northland MP Rt Hon Winston Peters.
“Who is running Parliament? It does not appear to be the elected members.
“Why are so many staff likely to become casualties of what can only be an ill-considered, cost-cutting measure.”
