Once again the
Prime Minister has hoodwinked the New Zealand public about
deployment of troops in Iraq, say New Zealand First.
“It
was never going to be a tour of duty for just two years -
that was totally unrealistic given the circumstances of the
war,” says New Zealand First Leader and Northland MP Rt
Hon Winston Peters.
“Now he’s extended the mission by
18 months, like a bolt out of the blue.
“He was never
straight and honest from the start – it was New Zealand
First that told the public the troops were in pre-deployment
training.
“There’s no democracy in the decision
making, with this latest announcement held back till
Parliamentarians left Wellington last week. This mission was
never sanctioned by Parliament, instead Mr Key relied on
‘golf course’ chats that this country will pay the price
for,” says Mr
Peters.

Any number of movie examples come to mind, beginning with Rudolf Valentino’s role (over a century ago) as the romantic Arab hero in The Sheik... More
