Seymour to host community meeting on crime
Epsom MP David Seymour to host community meeting on crime and window washers, Monday 4 July
“At residents' request, I am hosting a community meeting on what can be done about a series of violent incidents in and around Remuera and Greenlane interchange,” says Epsom MP David Seymour.
At Cornwall Park School this coming Monday Mr Seymour will bring together representatives of local police, security, and Auckland Transport, and the principals of Cornwall Park District School and Remuera Intermediate.
“Serious incidents have increased in number and continue unabated despite police intervention. Police believe many of the perpetrators come from outside our area and are associated with the window washers who hassle drivers at the Greenlane interchange. They dodge train fares, coming through Greenlane station in particular,” says Mr Seymour.
“We need more substantive action. Our trains need to be safer and children should be able to walk and bike to school without fear of being attacked or robbed.”
