Everyone But Key Accepting Reality of Immigration
A leading real estate company has been added to the list of specialists recognising the impact of immigration on jobs and housing, says New Zealand First.
“It seems everyone but John Key sees the logic in how ballooning immigration is contributing to unemployment and inflation in the housing market – we have Treasury, MBIE, ANZ and now Harcourts,” says New Zealand First Leader and Member of Parliament for Northland Rt Hon Winston Peters.
“New Zealand First has been saying this for years. Now the reality is hitting others square in the face.
“Something is seriously wrong when real estate companies, making millions from the flood of homebuyers in Auckland, are speaking out about high immigration levels.
“A review of immigration is a waste of time – we need to dramatically turn down the tap now.
“When will the Prime Minister finally acknowledge there is a problem and do something about it? He should show some guts, his term, and act now in the interests of all New Zealanders,” says Mr Peters.
