PM’s Talk of Proportions Complete Baloney

PM’S TALK OF PROPORTIONS COMPLETE BALONEY

When caught out, Prime Minister John Key talks complete baloney and he has done it again in Parliament today.

“This afternoon he became fixated with the word ‘proportion’, says New Zealand First Leader and Northland MP Rt Hon Winston Peters.

“He attempted to convince the House that when he said on Tuesday less people are granted visas and then claim asylum now than under the Labour government of 1999-2008, he was talking of proportions.

“It was clear on Tuesday, that proportion never entered his mind.

“The fact is no data has been collated on people granting visas and claiming asylum prior to 2009 – and on Tuesday he was talking off the top of his head.

“Clearly Mr Key realised he misled the House on Tuesday and has now attempted to get away with it by saying he meant he was talking of proportions.

“He must think New Zealanders are naïve if he expects them to believe that.

“Mr Key’s government has approved almost 1600 visas of various categories for non-genuine applicants who then claimed refugee status after arrival.

“This makes his comment made in November last year that there is ‘a proper vetting process’ for refugees look farcical,” Mr Peters says.
