High-risk sex offender should not live near schools
The Minister of Corrections is refusing to take seriously the message from our community that it is Not Okay to place a high-risk child sex offender near our children’s school, Labour’s MP for Mangere Su’a William Sio says.
“Judith Collins should review her Ministry’s process and criteria which allows such as person to be placed near our children’s school.
“Placing a child sex offender – who has a high risk of reoffending – near schools, puts all our children in danger of being seriously harmed by these sexual predators.
“Parents in Mangere are feeling frustrated that they are forced to modify the behaviour of themselves and their children because the Government believes it is okay to place a child sex offender near Jean Batten School.
“I will continue to support the Mangere campaign “Keep Our Children Safe” with protests and a petition until the Minister takes action and moves this child sex offender from near our school,” Su’a William Sio says.
