ACT condemns Imam’s platform of intolerance
ACT Leader David Seymour has joined the Government in condemning the anti-Semitic speeches delivered by a Manukau Imam.
“New Zealand is built on a basic cultural foundation of tolerance and respect for other peoples’ freedom to lead peaceful lives,” says Mr Seymour.
“By suggesting Muslims shouldn’t accept Jewish people for who they are, Dr Mohammad Anwar Sahib has condemned the freedom that makes our country great.
“While Dr Sahib has the right to say what he likes, the Federation of Islamic Associations also has the right to remove him from his position and deny him a platform to spread his intolerance. ACT hopes to see the Federation exercise this right.”
