Death of All Black Mike Burgoyne

New Zealand First offers it condolences to the family and friends of former All Black and Maori All Black Mike Burgoyne who passed away in Kaitaia this week, says New Zealand First Leader and Northland Member of Parliament Rt Hon Winston Peters.

“His name stands among the many fine rugby players Northland has produced over the years.

“Mr Burgoyne played seven matches for the All Blacks, including games against Argentina and Italy, and eight matches for the Maori All Blacks.

“He represented North Auckland, as Northland was then called, in 31 matches including defences of the Ranfurly Shield,” Mr Peters says.
