A chance for a Reserve Bank refresh - Green Party blog post

Graeme Wheeler’s departure presents a perfect time to consider what Reserve Bank reforms a new Governor can usher in. There are a number of central banking developments overseas which we can draw upon to refresh and modernise our own Bank. The top three of my list are:

1. The Reserve Bank Board should set the OCR;
2. Board minutes should be published within 14 days of each meeting;
3. The Bank should implement deposit insurance to protect everyday savers.
