MORE TEACHER AIDES NEEDED TO COPE WITH VIOLENT CHILDREN
Northland’s special education services must be better resourced as soon as possible, says New Zealand First Leader and Northland Member of Parliament, Rt Hon Winston Peters.
“Comments by Tai Tokerau Principals’ Association president Pat Newman that violent children might have to be suspended until the schools received the help they required show the seriousness of the problem.
“Teachers and other children should not be having to put up with the level of disruption they are enduring.
“The government must ensure there is urgent funding made available for more teacher aides – otherwise the problem will only get worse,” says Mr Peters.
