Partnership Schools congratulated for NCEA results

David Seymour, Under-Secretary to the Minister of Education, has congratulated the three Partnership Schools that offered NCEA in 2016 for their results, which have been confirmed today.

“Vanguard Military School has once again produced outstanding results, with 92.7, 94.2, and 88.9 per cent pass rates for NCEA level 1, 2, and 3, far exceeding national averages at every level,” says Mr Seymour.

“Te Kura Hourua o Whangarei Terenga Paraoa continues to perform very well, with 92.3, 74.1, and 62.5 per cent pass rates, exceeding decile 1-3 averages at every level.

“Pacific Advance Senior School, in its second year of operation, has achieved 40 and 37.5 per cent pass rates for NCEA level 1 and 2 – background information including e-asTTle testing shows students at this school making outstanding progress, despite some students having been outside the education system before attending PASS.

“Every student that has achieved NCEA, improved learning outcomes, or simply re-engaged with their education, deserves enormous credit for their effort.

“The courageous sponsors of these schools should also be congratulated for using the flexibility of the Partnership Schools model to address the specific needs of their unique student groups.”

All named results are roll-based.
