ACC Out of Touch with Ordinary Kiwi Workers

ACC Out of Touch with Ordinary Kiwi Workers

ACC staff need to escape their comfortable offices to learn more about what the average worker experiences every day, says New Zealand First Leader and Northland Member of Parliament

“By denying Christchurch welder Aaron Lange funding assistance because he kept working after being hurt shows they operate on a different planet.

“They have a complete lack of understanding of what pressures workers are under and clearly have no idea of what it is like to be in a physical job earning a living.

“This worker thought he was doing the right thing for his employer, gritting his teeth and working to the end of his shift even though he was in serious pain.

“But ACC has taken a different view and by denying funding, is penalising him for being a good, conscientious worker.

“Now this worker has to wait months in the public health system and endure more pain because ACC treats people like broken down machines rather than human beings,” says Mr Peters.
