MP for Ōhāriu congratulates Newlands College NCEA success - Dunne

Member of Parliament for Ōhāriu, Hon Peter Dunne has congratulated Newlands College on being recognised for their outstanding success in delivering high results for NCEA students at their school.

"I am delighted that Newlands College has been recognised as a school that has increased its overall achievement for students across the board by over 10 percentage points in NCEA over the 2014-2016 period.

“This new information highlights the extremely high quality of education at Newlands College,” said Mr Dunne.

The success of Newlands College will be commemorated in a poster issued by the Ministry of Education alongside other high performing schools across New Zealand.

“The level of achievement at Newlands College for students is a testament to the hard work of the school community, their hard work ensures that all students receive the highest possible quality education”

“I am delighted to see such high levels of achievement within Ōhāriu, Newlands scoring above the national average truly shows our ongoing commitment to schooling excellence”

“I was also particularly pleased to hear that Newland College scored above the national average and had seen large improvements for “priority” students, this is further testament to the care given by the Newlands College team towards our local community.

"I will proudly be hanging these posters in my electorate offices in Tawa and Johnsonville," Mr Dunne concluded.
