ACT Leader takes a hammer to the housing crisis

ACT Leader takes a hammer to the housing crisis

In light of Auckland’s continued housing shortage, ACT Leader and MP for Epsom David Seymour has decided it is time for the Government to start building houses.

As one of 28 members of the Government, the Under-Secretary will be swinging a hammer (hopefully more accurately than John Key did ) to help Habitat for Humanity construct a home in Newmarket, which will eventually be occupied by a family of nine in Kaikohe.

"I’m ideologically opposed to the Government building houses, and technically I am the Government, but this situation is desperate, so it’s time to get stuck in," says Mr Seymour.

David Seymour will be on site tomorrow (Saturday) building from 8:30am-4:30pm at 450 Broadway, Newmarket.
