Minister for Women Julie Anne
Genter has given birth to a healthy baby boy at Auckland
Hospital.
The child is the first for the Minister.
“My partner Peter and I are delighted to welcome the new addition to our family,” Ms Genter said.
“I want to thank the support I have had from my midwives, and our public health system.
The Minister has taken leave from her Ministerial duties from the 16th of August for three months (from 16th August to 16th November).
While Ms Genter is on parental leave, Minister Shaw will be the Acting Associate Minister of Transport and Acting Associate Minister of Health. Minister Sage will be Acting Minister for Women.
The Minister will be available in a few days to answer any questions. Details to come.
