"The Prime Minister’s creation of a Business Advisory Council creates a showdown between her Government’s stated agenda and the views of the business community", says ACT Leader David Seymour.

"Either the Government must listen to the private sector and back down on its damaging policy agenda, or they are simply using this advisory group as a PR exercise.

"The Prime Minister said just this morning that if we want to know her Government’s agenda we need only look at the Speech from the Throne and the coalition and confidence and supply agreements.

"Do those documents still form the basis for her Government’s agenda? Or is she prepared to reverse course?

"If she is prepared to listen to her Business Advisory Council, which of her Government’s vandalous policies will she drop?

"Massive hikes in the minimum wage? Repealing tax cuts? Billions in middle-class and corporate welfare through Fees-Free and the Provincial Growth Fund? The vandalous Employment Relations Bill? Higher fuel taxes? The foreign home-buyer ban?

“The fact is, the Government won’t listen to the private sector.

"First there was ‘greenwash', now Jacinda has created ‘suitwash', hoping a few suits will cover up her hard left agenda.

"This deeply ideological left-wing Government will not change course. They are using private sector CEOs to give the impression they are listening. It is simply a PR exercise."
