Wrongfully evicted families to have their related debt wiped
Wednesday, 17 April 2019, 1:13 pm Press Release: Green Party
17 April 2019
The Green Party is welcoming moves to
wipe the debts related to wrongful eviction due to meth
contamination for families from their HousingNZ
home.
“Families wrongly evicted by the National
Government are getting some justice today,” Green Party
Co-leader Marama Davidson said today.
“Families wrongly
evicted needed emergency housing otherwise they would have
been homeless. Families that were evicted needed things like
new school uniforms because their children had to move
school. Families have been paying that money back ever
since, all based off their wrongful eviction in the first
place.
“The beat up of poor families under the previous
government was a disgrace and we are still awaiting an
apology from the Minister involved under the previous
Government.
“I am pleased to be part of a Government
that recognises the unnecessary pain and suffering that
being wrongfully evicted has on a family,” Marama Davidson
says.

Any number of movie examples come to mind, beginning with Rudolf Valentino’s role (over a century ago) as the romantic Arab hero in The Sheik... More
