Business Statement

When Parliament resumed at 2pm the Acting Leader of the House Simon Power said when the House sat next week on May 10 it intended to move Government Notice of Motion Eight.

``Hon SIMON POWER to move, That a respectful Address be presented to His Excellency the Governor-General commending to His Excellency the alterations to the appropriations for the 2010/11 financial year in respect of Vote Audit, Vote Ombudsmen, and Vote Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment, and the appropriations and information for the 2011/12 financial year in respect of Vote Audit, Vote Ombudsmen, and Vote Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment.’’

The Government would also seek to make progress on the Environmental Protection Authority Bill and the Dairy Industry Restructuring (New Sunset Provisions) Amendment Bill.

In answer to a question Mr Power said he would keep the Opposition informed on any plans for Urgency in the third week of the current sitting session.


Select committee reports were presented on the:

2009/10 financial review of Te Reo Whakapuaki Irirangi (Maori Broadcasting Funding Agency)
by the Māori Affairs Committee;

2009/10 financial review of the Arts Council of New Zealand Toi Aotearoa by the Government Administration Committee
