The Green Party expresses its condolences to Tongan communities after the sudden passing of King George Tupou V in Hong Kong yesterday.
Green Party Pacific Island Affairs spokesperson Jan Logie said: “On behalf of the Green Party I extend our heartfelt sympathies to the Heir Presumptive to the Tongan throne, the members of the royal family, and the people of Tonga.
“The passing of a monarch is always a challenging time for people, and we offer our support to the more than 50,000 Tongans living in New Zealand.”
