Congratulations on OBE
for Public Service
New Zealand First has
congratulated Feleti Penitala Teo on being awarded the Order
of the British Empire (OBE) in recognition of his
contribution to public service in Tuvalu.
Mr Teo is the Deputy Secretary General of the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat and is responsible for managing the implementation of the Pacific Plan. He was also the first Tuvaluan to gain a law degree and be admitted as a Solicitor and Barrister of the High Court of New Zealand in 1986.
Spokesperson for Pacific Island affairs Asenati Lole-Taylor says that this award highlights the positive achievements Pacific Islanders are making on the international stage.
“The Pacific Islands may be small but the contribution that Mr Teo has been recognised for is huge”.
“I want to congratulate Mr Teo on receiving his OBE and wish him all the very best with his work through the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat” says Mrs Lole-Taylor.
