On the Reshuffle

Rt Hon Winston Peters

New Zealand First Leader

Member of Parliament for Northland
7 DECEMBER 2015

On the Reshuffle

So the Prime Minister is doing a reshuffle. But what mixed messages is the Prime Minister sending, says New Zealand First Leader and Member of Parliament for Northland Rt Hon Winston Peters.

“Take a look at the candidates being touted, Tim Groser and Judith Collins.

“Tim Groser’s dismal record and performance on the TPPA and free trade deal with Korea is way below what he led the country to expect, where he promised so much and delivered so little. All National are rewarding is Groser’s promotion of their free trade ideology. So how on earth might anyone think he is better than a career diplomat and not just a trade negotiator?

“The Prime Minister said he had high standards when he announced the Cabinet in 2008. So how come Mr Groser was able to use our secret service agencies to promote his WTO credentials and get away with it?

“Judith Collins’ long running stream of denials about everything on Oravida showed John Key never had any standards. Finally, he found some criteria to demote her which begs the question, what’s the criteria now to bring her back?

“Why can’t Maurice Williamson come back, because compared to those two his sins were minor?

“It just shows how bereft of talent the National Party caucus is and reveals how much John Key is struggling

“This will not deflect from the flag issue,” says Mr Peters.
