Why Won’t Dr Cullen Front?
Monday, 12 July 1999, 2:19 pm
Press Release: New Zealand Government

National MP Annabel Young thinks Labour’s Dr Cullen is
worried about being shown up by Bill English.
"Dr Cullen
hasn’t been on TV for months. Helen Clark fronted TV One
last night and this morning on the tax relief
plan.
"Either Helen has no confidence in him or he’s
scared of Bill English.”
"Dr Cullen must be somewhere.
He’s certainly not under public scrutiny. Maybe he’s hiding
his light under some bushel near Napier” said Annabel
Young.
“Will the Alliance be sending a search party out
for Dr Cullen or are they happier without him?” she
asked.

Gordon Campbell: On the Sony cyber attack
Given the layers of meta-irony involved, the saga of the Sony cyber attack seemed at the outset more like a snarky European art film than a popcorn entry at the multiplex.
Yet now with (a) President Barack Obama weighing in on the side of artistic freedom and calling for the US to make a ‘proportionate response’quickly followed by (b) North Korea’s entire Internet service going down, and with both these events being followed by (c) Sony deciding to backtrack and release The Interview film that had made it a target for the dastardly North Koreans in the first place, then ay caramba…the whole world will now be watching how this affair pans out.
