Housing Poster Gutless, Cowardly, Childish
Tuesday, 27 July 1999, 1:23 pm
Press Release: New Zealand Government
|
"A poster (copy attached) supporting evicted state housing
tenant, Len Parker, is gutless, cowardly, and childish",
Housing New Zealand Minister, Tony Ryall, said today.
"The
poster gives an Auckland address which it purports to be
that of Housing New Zealand spokesperson, Ms Margrit de
Man", Mr Ryall said.
"The address given is not that of Ms
de Man, but one wonders what the author of the poster is
attempting to achieve by publishing someone's home address
at all.
"It seems to be a veiled threat, akin to that made
by the Invercargill Mongrel Mob earlier this week.
"This
kind of personal attack on a neutral public servant simply
doing their job, is totally
repugnant.

Gordon Campbell: On the Sony cyber attack
Given the layers of meta-irony involved, the saga of the Sony cyber attack seemed at the outset more like a snarky European art film than a popcorn entry at the multiplex.
Yet now with (a) President Barack Obama weighing in on the side of artistic freedom and calling for the US to make a ‘proportionate response’quickly followed by (b) North Korea’s entire Internet service going down, and with both these events being followed by (c) Sony deciding to backtrack and release The Interview film that had made it a target for the dastardly North Koreans in the first place, then ay caramba…the whole world will now be watching how this affair pans out.
