Not Lotteries Commission Role to Increase Gambling |

More is not better
It’s Not the role of Lotteries
Commission to Increase Gambling
“It is not the role of the Lotteries Commission to increase gambling. It is supposed to run a series of virtual gambling monopolies, as efficiently as possible. It’s prime objective should be to prevent corruption. It is not supposed to be trying to increase its business. Unlike other businesses, more business for the Lotteries Commission is not a necessarily a good thing.” Said National MP Annabel Young today. “The Commission will have to rethink its view of its role if it thinks that it is there to push gambling.”
“We put
pressure on the Lotteries Commission to produce more money
for charities, sport and culture but it should not view this
as a pressure to increase gambling turnover. In the last
few days, we have seen some obvious areas where the
Commission will be able to make some savings in the future
to produce more money for good works without increasing its
turnover.”
